I love working with children. Being a collaborator has taken me out of the classroom in the traditional sense, but I have opportunities to meet with and assist students with their learning on a daily basis. One of my goals is to help both students and teachers to see new ways of integrating technology into existing curricula. In my currect role as a collaborator and technology facilitator, I feel that I am getting closer to meeting this goal, but I still have a long way to go.

I see technology as a wonderful tool that has tremendous potential. I think it is important that teachers capitalize on this tool to prepare our students for what is sure to become a technology-immersed future. We can do this by making technology an every day tool, as common as a textbook or piece of paper. Once students get used to using modern technology, it will become second nature, just as it is second nature for most people to pick up a pen and write with it. When we reach this point, we will have de-emphasized the technology and spent time focusing on more important things.
